About Me

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in individual therapy with adults.  Though I am originally from the Cypress area, I earned my doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2007, after which I completed a two year postdoctoral fellowship at the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University.  While on my fellowship I received extensive training in the treatment of personality disorders and was also involved in clinical research in that field.  I subsequently worked for several years at a hospital-based outpatient clinic in New York City that focused on helping individuals who struggle with personality-related issues.  In 2013 I returned to the Houston area in order to take a position at University of Houston Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), where I presently work as a staff psychologist and serve as a clinical supervisor for graduate students.

I have a background in psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as in cognitive-behavioral (CBT) therapy, and have worked extensively with clients seeking to address difficulties in identity, relationships, and how they manage and express their emotions.  I also have significant experience working with students and professionals who are struggling with issues related to motivation, achievement, and making progress toward goals.
